It’s been a LONG time since Taylor Swift recorded music with the intent of appealing to the world of Country Music. Now, that’s not to say she hasn’t WRITTEN country music as she won awards as the songwriter of Little Big Town’s hit, “Better Man.” Although now, she’s doing all the heavy lifting with her song, “Betty,” from her new LP “Folklore,” and is said to be releasing it to Country Radio.
“Betty” captures a moment in a young person’s life when they realize that not all love is fair. With Bob Dylan vibes, the acoustic song switches between “Betty” and “James” and you can find yourself in each of them.
I’ve listened to it a couple of times and really like the track.
That being said, I’m not sure if it’s “Country” as much as it sounds like Dylan or Springsteen. Then again, I can argue that some of their music is “Country,” so what do I know? <g>
What do you think?
Oh, and just so you know, there’s a NSFW word that appears a couple of times in the chorus of the song.
