In my opinion, it is one of the saddest statements on the state of our country that it took almost a week for me to hear about this story.

Eight days ago a 5-year-old caucasian boy was riding his bike in front of his home in Wilson, NC, when a black neighbor came up and fatally shot him thru the head at point-blank range.

As of now, Darrius Sessoms has been taken into custody.  No motive has been made public by police.

My anger over this senseless tragedy and its lack of national coverage by the media has my blood boiling.  Why is this story not leading every newscast/morning TV show across the country?  Where is the outrage?  Where is the call for protests against senseless violence of this nature?  Where are our national leaders from both sides of the aisle/of all skin colors publicly denouncing this act and the person who perpetrated it?

Silence

Well, the family has established a "Go Fund Me," hoping to raise $5,000 to defray funeral costs.  That fund now stands at more than $730,000
