I’ve actually been to this establishment and thought to myself, “I wonder if people would just put their mouths under the taps.” I think I may be psychic.
If you’ve ever visited South End’s Hoppin then you know that it’s a self-pour business. This has become a very popular type of bar in the Charlotte area. How it works is when you walk in, you swipe your payment card and you get a wristband. That wristband activates each self-pour and essentially you can pour however much you want because you pay by the ounce.
Well, something pretty nasty happened at Charlotte’s Hoppin that was caught on video. This footage surfaced of a woman drinking directly from a tap and went viral for obvious COVID reasons.
There were other pictures that were shared with this viral video showing how non-pandemic friendly the place was. The inside of the bar looked like there were no social distancing protocols in place. After the video and pictures went viral, Hoppin took to social media to make a statement.
