I have an incredible amount of respect for all branches of the US Military but becoming a Marine is really something special to me and my family.  My nephew Nathan joined the Marine Corp and fought bravely in Afghanistan .  We were with him every step of the way as he became a Marine, it was difficult and it's true what they say.  The few, the proud, the Marines.

One of the best riding buddies is a Marine.  He is 81 and he speaks of his days in the military almost every time we ride.  He still has breakfast with his Marine Corp buddies every month.  Being in that elite group runs deep.

When I saw the story about the oldest living Marine turning 107, I have to admit, I was assuming it was a brave man.  But in fact it is a very brave WOMAN named Dot Cole.

Sgt. Dot Cole joined the marines in 1943 during WW2.

Happy Birthday Sgt Cole!  To learn more about this very special Marine just go right here
