Charlotte is a lot more haunted than you think.  Folks tend to dismiss the Queen City when they think about cities with the biggest concentration of paranormal activity.  But they would be wrong.

It is that time of year when we start to think of such things what with all Hallows Eve right around the corner.  October 31 is a night  when the dead are said to walk the earth, according to legend.  Charlotte allegedly has haunted plantations like Latta, Old Fire Station #4, Ri Ra Irish Pub, The Dunhill hotel, and Queens University.  Now I have been to each of these places and found them to be absolutely lovely.  But then I have never been alone in them with the lights off.  Who knows what happens then.

Have I ever seen  ghost?  Well, I am not sure what you call it but I have seen something lets just say I couldn't explain.  My sister and I were walking towards the pasture to fetch my horse at the time, Georgia and as I approached I saw someone in the pasture with her or so I thought.  It looked like a farmer wearing overalls and a ball cap.  It was far away and I really couldn't make out who it was. Unusual for anyone to just be standing out in the pasture with the herd.  I thought it might have been the farm hand we call "cowboy".  I called for him but he didnt look up.  Seemed he was bent over and tending to Georgia.  I kept calling out to the figure and he finally lifted his head.  I looked down for a second and when I looked up..he was gone.  And I mean vanished.  My sister saw the same thing.  It was not cowboy so who was it?  We found out later that my horse had stomach cancer.  Was it an angel sent to tend to her?  Was it a ghost from a past owner?  All I know is, it was my one and only encounter I just cannot explain.
