Singer and legendary songwriter Mac Davis passed away last night after heart surgery.  I was very very little when he was at the height of his popularity but I remember my parents loved him and loved his music.  He was 78 years old.

He is known for his quick songwriting skills.  On his variety show , audience members would give him a song title and he would quickly write a country song around it.  He may be best known for writing "A Little Less Conversation"  and "In The Ghetto" for Elvis.

After all the professional accolades, and there are just so many including ACM entertainer of the year award winner; his friends and family say what  he's best known for is being  a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
