Last week, on a rainy night, we left work, looked at each other and said, "You know what...comfort food sounds REALLY good right now."

In times like these, more often than not, WE CALL could use a little comfort, right?  Anyway, we went to a spot that delivers the goods for us and it was great.

This morning, we got the news that a comfort food spot in Catawba, The Homeplace Restaurant, it shutting its doors.

Damn, I hate the damage that Covid-19 continues to cause.  The Homeplace was renown for it's family style comfort food, and will be open through Sunday for inside dining and carry-out.  No word on whether or not it will reopen in 2021, but I hope for the owners and the rest of us, better days are ahead.
