If You Get Along With Your Boss You’re More Likely To Do This For Them

Don't get me wrong, I really do like my bosses but I have never been good at office politics.  Somehow I have managed to work full time in radio for a long time without being the office suck up, but we have them around here trust me:)

In a recent study, people who report stronger relationships with their bosses are more likely to engage in shady behavior on their behalf.  What kind of bad behavior you might ask?  It includes misrepresenting the truth or withholding negative information about them to make their manager look good even if it brought themselves no obvious benefit.

When employees in the survey believed that acting unethically helped their boss they were more likely to do so if they had a strong relationship with them.  Source:  Good Parts Media
