I remember when Doug Supernaw's first CD came out.  His record label, BNA Records (a former home of a young Kenny Chesney as well), told me, "We have a major superstar on our hands."

And if you ever saw Doug Supernaw perform, you would not have disagreed.  He is one of those guys who had an electric personality and the ability to really connect with an audience.

He was riding high after his biggest hit, "I Don't Call Him Daddy."

Then, a series of bad things happened to Doug.  I remember him surviving (barely) a head-on car collision and a scary bout with food poisoning.

There also were run-ins with the law for public intoxication, failure to pay child support, small drug charges, and he’s been sent to a mental hospital for erratic behavior in court.

Finally, the news came last year ago that he was battling stage 4 cancer.  And this  weekend, Doug's wife gave fans an update on his condition via Facebook stating, "I have been hoping to not have to pass this information on to you, but, Doug's cancer has spread to the brain and spine, and he is now under hospice care," she wrote. "I will update as much as I am able to; until then, please keep Doug in your thoughts and prayers, as you all have been."

Please keep Doug in your thoughts and prayers and in the meantime, I want to share with you a fave Doug song that wasn't widely released or known.  Enjoy his talent.
