Condolences To Rascal Flatt’s Jay DeMarcus

Sad news for Jay and family.

Jay DeMarcus announced some very sad news this morning. Jay's father passed away.

Stanley Wayne DeMarcus. He was called "Wayno" by family and friends.

Jay is named after his father, as his real name is Stanley Wayne DeMarcus Jr. However, neither his mom nor his dad liked the names Stanley or Wayne, but Wayno wanted a namesake. Now Jay's mom said she didn't like JR or Junior so I'm calling him Jay.

He taught me how to play, pushed me to be the best I could be, and I could not be more grateful for the time spent with him on the stage, and off.

I have a lifetime of memories that will now be my comfort, as I face this life now without him. Rest In Peace my precious Dad, I was always proud to be called your son, and I will miss you forever. Enjoy Heaven, you’ve earned it...
