I came across an statement the other day, that I was completely unaware of.  Someone said that it is illegal to post a picture of you voting/with your ballot.

Huh?

Why?  And is this true?

The answer is it depends.  Here's what I discovered:

If you live in NC, you CAN take photos outside of the voting venue.  However, you CANNOT take any from inside the venue or with your ballot.

If you live in SC,  the only difference is you MIGHT be able to take pictures inside the venue (depending on the venue's individual rules and regulations).
