This sounds like something that is quite frankly, made up. The Tamworth Distilling Company in New Hampshire has a couple of new, limited edition spirits that I don't know if I'm lining up to taste.
First, there's the "Deerslayer." It is made with smoked venison, cranberries, porcini mushrooms, juniper berries and green peppercorns. Bottles cost $65 a piece and have an alcohol by volume of 49.5%. It goes on sale beginning November 14.
However it's the SECOND offering that has me REALLY wincing. This is from their website:
“I Drink Dead People”
Tamworth Distilling Presents: The Blair Whiskey Project. Graverobber is an Unholy Rye Whiskey infused with maple syrup tapped from graveside maple trees. On the property of Tamworth Distilling lies a malignant old maple whose roots burrow deep into the nearby unmarked Colonial era graveyard. What would happen if we tapped some of the sinister sap and added it to our whiskey? Spicy yet sweet, evil yet divine, the life of the Graverobber begins… when yours ends.
Drink it if you dare.
Look, I love a good, new. and/or adventurous spirit. But this one?
