Chicagoans Ordered To Stay Home For 30 Days.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is ordering residents to stay home for at least 30 days – including Thanksgiving. Starting Monday, residents are to avoid non-essential travel and leave home only for work, school, or for essentials.
Restaurants and bars will be closed for indoor dining and a curfew will be in place for non-essential businesses. Lightfoot also urged Chicagoans to “cancel the normal Thanksgiving plans, particularly if they include guests that do not live in your immediate household.”
Illinois has seen a record spike in coronavirus cases, averaging nearly 12,000 cases a day over the last week. Are you changing your Thanksgiving plans due to the pandemic? Should that kind of thing be up to the mayor?
