He was just 37

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge raised millions of dollars for ALS. From celebrities to kids in the neighborhood, everybody was taking part. We did it is our household. One of the guys behind the genius idea to raise money with this fun concept has passed away.

Pat Quinn was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, in 2013. He had just turned 30.

The other co-founder of the challenge Pete Frates, lost his battle in late 2019.  Frates, a former Boston College baseball player, was just 34.
