If you’re like most of us, we’re looking forward to a brand new beginning because we’ve had enough of the most talked about year in our generation. This darn 2020 will certainly go down in history and many are ready to put it away in the history books and be done with it, for good. With the promise of a New Year right around the corner, many are looking forward to a new beginning.  It’s crazy how the countdown from Dec. 31 to Jan. 1 can inspire such hope, but it’s like that every year. People start planning all the changes they will make; all the life improvements, new hobbies and healthy choices. It’s as if we are hitting the reset button every 365 days. Yes, Jan 1st is just another day on the calendar, but it is unique in that it offers the opportunity of a fresh start for everyone.

Every year around this time we start planning how to better ourselves. We start asking all our friends and family members, “What’s your new year’s resolution?” Most, if not all our goals are forgotten by February, but that doesn’t deter us from making them yet again, year after year. Whether it’s quitting smoking, losing 10 lbs or starting a new hobby, we all line up at the starting line and wait for the “Ready, set, go!” Honestly, what do we have to lose besides some bad habits, and if we fail, well there’s always next year…

The end of 2020, will mark the end of a year full of surprises that no one asked for nor wanted. This New Year ’s Eve it isn’t just about looking forward to what’s to come, but getting away from what’s already happened. Let’s just keep our eyes glued to the future of the special night, coming very soon, where we can put it behind us and journey into a new beginning.
