Matthews Man Among Those Arrested Storming The Capitol

I'm probably showing my age and will take some heat for this, but I believe it's important to be on the right side of history.  My mother always stressed there was a right way, and a wrong way to do things.

Peacefully protesting in front of our nation's capitol building yesterday for something you believe strongly in?  That's the right way.

Storming the capitol building like some unruly mob from "Les Miserables" heading for the Bastille prison?  That's not just the wrong way, it's the UNAMERICAN way.

It was appalling to watch people lose control and completely abandon common decency.  I remember distinctly thinking while watching in the control room, "Gosh, I hope none of our people...none of those here in the Charlotte area are caught up in this."

Of course, I knew the odds on this were long, and sure enough, a Matthews man was arrested and charged with a curfew violation and unlawful entry.

Earl Glosser's address was tracked down by WBTV and confirmed by a woman at the residence who acknowledged  that Glosser was indeed in DC on Wednesday.

"He wanted to be a part of this," she told the station.

And as far as regrets go?

"Absolutely not, I'm sure he would do it all again."

I hate to hear that.
