When I was growing up, going to the movies was a HUGE treat in our house.  When it happened, it was usually on a Sunday afternoon, right after church, for a matinee (and mom would pack our own popcorn in her huge purse).  There are two such adventures that have always stood out in my mind:  "Star Wars" and during Christmas of 1976, "King Kong."

It starred a very young Jeff Bridges and featured the acting debut of future Oscar winner, Jessica Lange.  To this day, I love this movie and I love King Kong.  The version of Kong done in 2005 by the maker of "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, Peter Jackson was spectacular.

And then a couple of years ago, we got "Skull Island," still another King Kong movie (awesome-btw) that kicked off a new "Monster-Verse" of films that features "Godzilla" and "Godzilla:  King of the Monsters."

One of the cinematic victims of the Covid-19 shutdown of movie theaters is "Godzilla vs. Kong," the latest installment in these films.  It was initially supposed to be released at the end of last summer, but now, will be released simultaneously March 26, in theaters and on HBO Max (like "Wonder Woman 1984").

Producers gave us a first look yesterday...

And I can't wait!
