By NumenaStudios/ShutterstockI looked it up and it isn't required that the President or Vice President salute the military at Air Force One or Two but it sure is disrespectful if they don't. That is one thought surrounding those who are noticing Kamala Harris NOT saluting military as she boards Air Force Two.
Tradition of saluting military outside Air Force One began with President Ronald Reagan back in the eighties and Presidents and Vice Presidents have been doing it ever since.
Vice Presidents Mike Pence and Joe Biden carried on the tradition of returning salutes to the military.
I haven't seen the reason why Harris does not return the salute, again it is not required, but as my Momma would say, it sure looks rude.
