Just a week or so ago, I wrote here of Debbie and I's partiality to singers from, and songs that mention, our home state of Texas.  In that case we were talking about Blake Shelton's "Austin."

What "Austin" has in common with this song is the use of a town in place of a person's name/identity.  It's a popular country song move.  "Am I Right Or Amarillo" is the latest release/tease from Miranda Lambert's upcoming project along with Jon Randall and Jack Ingram called "The Marfa Tapes."

“Am I right or Amarillo / Am I wrong for loving you / Come lay down on my pillow / ‘Til the dawn comes breaking through / Am I crazy, I don’t know / You just might be, too / Am I right or Amarillo / Am I wrong for loving you"

For all who call us all the time and/or post all the time on social media decrying the lack of "country music" left in the world, this who project should be your jam.

There is something so beautiful in "The Marfa Tapes" rustic simplicity.  Guitars, voices, great songs.  Period.  No autotune, no fancy studio tricks, just perfect music.

I cannot wait to hear the rest of this project.
