Luke Combs New Song Speaks For My Soul

In college, Luke began struggling with anxiety and primarily obsessional obsessive compulsive disorder. He still struggles with it today.

On Monday I was able to kill two birds with one stone.  First, I was able to play, once again, in the CCMF Kickoff Golf Classic down at Myrtle Beach.  And two, my usual playing partner was unable to go, so I "had" to enlist the aid of my all-time favorite playing partner, my son, Hogan, to play with me.

Nothing makes me smile like getting to mix business and personal pleasure like this.  Hogan is a freshman at Coastal Carolina and although I've accepted that he's no longer a permanent resident in our home, I will never get used to him being "gone."

I miss him desperately.  So getting to spend this kind of time with him...well, it's gold.

Anyway, following our round we went to out to dinner and the topic of conversation turned to two men he never knew, my grandfathers.  Two more different men you will never meet.  Likewise, you'd never admire two men more.

After we parted company and I was driving back to where I was staying, I got to thinking about what our conversations would be like today if I could sit and talk to my grandfathers again.  Would they be proud?  Would they think as much of me as I do them?  What would they think of the life I've lived and tried to make for my family?

Then this morning, these similar sentiments came in song from Luke Combs.  "See Me Now" will be on his highly anticipated, upcoming third album.

A truly great artist writes/sings music that speaks to and for the soul of people.  In this case, people like me.  Thank you Luke Combs.  I can't wait for the rest of album number three.
