Almost ten years ago (2012), Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton were on top of the world.  As big a power couple as we'd ever seen in Country Music.  Both were incapable of not releasing a number one song.  Each were respectively ACM/CMA Female/Male Vocalist of the Year.  And, more importantly, they appeared to be what we all wanted them to be, which was happily married.

Now Blake has never been known as a big songwriter, but Miranda, well that's her jam.  And the story she recently shared in this regard about her hit record, "Over You" was really cool.

During a recent sit down with Apple Music’s “Essentials Radio” Miranda recalled writing the song explaining that it came after Blake had lost his little brother in 1990 at 24 after a car accident.

After sharing the experience with Lambert, she asked if he’d ever written about his brother’s death, which he hadn’t. Miranda says she wanted to write a song about the experience but worried it would be too “invasive.”

"'Well, my dad just says,  you don't get over it, you just get used to it."' Blake told Lambert.

So the two penned the song and it went on to win song of the year at the CMAs and ACM Awards.

However the relationship ended, and whatever the circumstances were, it's hard to argue that at one time, Blake and Miranda were magic together.  And this song...it's proof.
