Mass Shooting Leaves Five Dead Near Rock Hill, SC
At least five people are dead after a mass shooting near Rock Hill, South Carolina.
The York County Sheriff’s Office tweeted last night that a local doctor, his wife and their two grandchildren were killed in the shooting late yesterday afternoon, along with a man who was working at the home.
The county coroner’s office says the grandchildren were ages five and nine. At a news conference following the shooting, sheriff’s spokesman Trent Faris said the doctor was “very prominent” and well known in York County. He said a sixth victim was also taken to a hospital with serious gunshots wounds.
Authorities say the suspect was found at a nearby house, but they aren’t saying if he’s alive or dead. Faris said the suspect lived on the same road as the doctor, but that’s all he could say during the investigation. A press conference is expected this morning.
