Now, if you are looking for someone to tell you that "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is some kind of significant, artistic achievement in modern cinema, then you've come to the wrong place. That being said, I do believe that seeing "Rocky Horror" in a theater full of people at a midnight showing is a life experience that everyone should have.
For those that have done it, you know what I'm talking about. Anyway, the movie has been a Saturday night staple at at Portland’s Clinton Street Theater for 43 years. Then, the Coronavirus shutdown happened. The theater was closed because of the restrictions on March 15, 2020. However, one man, Nathan Williams, was not about to let a 4 decade+ streak come to an end. So, for the next year and two weeks, he came to an empty theater to screen the film. Sometimes he'd come alone, sometimes bring a pal with him. “I watched it alone. I watched it during the snowstorm. I was in a position to keep the flame burning, to keep the torch lit.” Williams serves as emcee for the theater’s “Rocky” nights. And now, the show goes on as the theater reopened on April 3.
