Reboot Of Unintentionally Funny Classic Schwarzenegger Action Movie Is Coming

I cannot tell you how big the smile on my face is as I'm writing this.  One of my all-time favorite, guilt pleasure movies from my childhood is said to be getting a "reboot."  In 1985, Sylvester Stallone had a HUGE action hit with "Rambo:  First Blood Part II."  If you've never seen it, basically Stallone goes back to Vietnam, finds and rescues POWs, and then takes out the entire NVA by himself.  Well, at that time, the only rival Stallone had in the action movie world was Arnold Schwarzenegger.  And if Sly went to war....then Arnold was going too, with "Commando."

This movie is SOOOOO over the top with action movie clichés and Arnold one liners...it's great.  HOWEVER, it also has some of the most unintentionally hilarious scenes EVER in any action movie.  Let's start with this one.  Near the beginning of the movie, Arnold leaps from the landing gear of an airplane during takeoff into a shallow swamp and just walks away.  Notice the obvious "dummy" Arnold that falls from the plane, and of course the preposterous notion of this sort of thing not breaking every bone in each leg.

Speaking of preposterous notions.  Later in "Commando" a car chase ensues.  Arnold and co-star Rae Dawn Chong are not only in a car best suited for children, but they are not wearing seatbelts (Arnold's not even sitting in a seat-he ripped it out), and they crash, head-on, into a phone poll at full speed with ZERO repercussions (5:03 mark).

Every time I see or even think of these scenes, I crack up.  Every time.  Now, supposedly Arnold wants to reboot "Commando" AND wants Stallone involved in some way.  I'm not certain this will happen, but if it does, I hope they go completely outlandish with more like what I've pointed out above.  To me, it's what makes this movie, must-see for me, STILL, all these years later.
