A NC music teacher died trying to save the lives of two children caught in a rip tide on the North Carolina coast last weekend.

Friend and family say Jessica Lea Embry was always selfless and always kept her eye on the water.  She reportedly went in the water after she saw two kids in apparent trouble.

She raced in to try and save them but she herself became distressed.  Kure Beach police said they were able to bring her to shore but were unable to revive her.  She was a fine arts teacher at Ashley High school and was the orchestra director there.  The kids will have a grief counselor on hand.
