Concerts Could Be Closer Than We Think
NC Governor Roy Cooper addressed the media today about the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. He says NC is trending in the right direction with cases declining and people getting the vaccines. Cooper’s current Executive Order is set to expire on April 30th and he plans to announce May’s next week.
The biggest news however is that he anticipates lifting all capacity and mass gathering restrictions by June 1st! This is great news for concerts, Live Nation has started to announce some outdoor shows later in the summer and fall, but a June opening would give us a much longer concert season. It’s also a positive outlook for the Charlotte Knights who will be right in the midst of their season. The Panthers and college teams would also be able to have full capacity for games in the fall.
Cooper also anticipates lifting the mask mandate for outdoors at the same time. Masks would still be required indoors and for anyone under 16 who is not yet eligible for a vaccine.
This definitely gives me hope for a somewhat normal summer!
What are you most looking forward to doing once things are open?
