Oh I remember the day so well. It was for sure one of the most memorable artist visits I have ever had. Back in the early 2000's my boss calls me on the hotline. He says he has a promising new artist in the building and he wants me to meet him and consider putting him on the air. In walks Dierks Bentley.
Bright eyed, nervous , curly long haired blonde comes strolling in; guitar in hand. I talked to him for a minute and asked him to play his new song, it was "What Was I Thinkin'". My boss and I exchanged the look, this kid is going to be a big star.
