Okay, no way did this go as planned.  In case you missed this story let me catch you up.  Back in the fall, Laura Rose Carroll, an assistant principal at a school within her daughter’s school district, hacked into the computer system and changed the votes of hundreds of students at her daughter's high school in the Homecoming Queen Election.  Well, it worked.  Emily Rose Grover was elected queen.  However, red flags began to arise when district officials noticed a rash of unauthorized access to students' accounts.  It was bad enough that an investigation proved that Carroll and Grover were indeed guilty of rigging the election, but made worse by the fact that apparently, Grover wasn’t even afraid to hide it.  According to a police press release, “Multiple students reported that the daughter described using her mother’s account to cast votes.”  Now...it's time to pay the piper.

Carroll and Grover each face one account of: (1) offenses against users of computers, computer systems, computer networks, and electronic devices; (2) unlawful use of a two-way communications device; (3) criminal use of personally identifiable information; (4) conspiracy.  A Florida court ruled that since Grover turned 18 soon after the alleged crime, she will be tried as an adult.  Both women could now face a maximum of 16 years in prison.  Hope that crown was worth it.
