One of the biggest postponements due to the Covid-19 pandemic last year was the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.  It is scheduled to be held beginning in July.  I used that word, "scheduled," as a top medical group in Japan has joined a growing chorus of people who want the Tokyo Summer Olympics canceled as the country continues to battle a spike in coronavirus cases. The Tokyo Medical Practitioners Association said hospitals already "have their hands full and have almost no spare capacity." The group said it "strongly suggests" there should be no Games this summer, and joins the chorus by this petition submitted by a group of concerned citizens (see video below).  In fact, sources claim that 60% of the population DOES NOT WANT the games to happen.

I'm going to be very curious as to what happens here.  As my father always says, "The answer to every question in life is 'money'."  A full cancelation of The Summer Olympics would be economically catastrophic to Japan and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).  Let me be completely honest and cynical here:  there is no way the Olympics AREN'T happening-no matter what group is concerned (IMO).
