Before there was "Army of the Dead," "The Walking Dead" or "World War Z" or any other modern-day "zombie" movie or TV show, there was "Resident Evil."  In 1996, it started as a video game that was released for the first Sony Playstation.  In all its incarnations and sequel games, the franchise has sold more than 100 million units.  It's zombie apocalypse storyline spawned a hit movie series (6 movies) starring Milla Jovavich that have made more than $1 billion worldwide.

Now, Netflix has rebooted the series with a combination of the two Resident Evils.  "Resident Evil:  Infinite Darkness" is a limited series, that looks like a video game.  In a sense, I guess it's kind of an American attempt at Japanese anime.  Anyway, it looks awesome and debuts in July on the streaming service.
