Congrats to LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets for winning the NBA Rookie of the Year award. The last player to win this award was Omeka Okafor for the Charlotte Bobcats back in 2005. Larry Johnson also won the award for Charlotte back in 1993.

LaMelo Ball averaged 15.7 points, 6.1 assists, 5.9 rebounds in 51 games to lead the Hornets into the NBA’s play-in tournament. He did missing 21 games this year with an injury and finished second in scoring among all rookies during the regular season. Congrats!
