Me

Admittedly, I'm not a big "selfie" guy.  In fact, I don't know too many guys that are.  That being said, the pic above is one of my faves taken of us and yup, it's the "s" word.  It's crazy to me that selfie is such a part of our everyday language, yet it didn't exist 10-12 years ago.  Anyway, Today is "National Selfie Day," or as it's known in Catherine Lane's world, any day that ends in "y."  And I give her a hard time, but if you are around the strange breed female, and they've got a phone, chances are a selfie will at some point be taken.  It's a fact. <g>  So, before you celebrate, here are the facts on self-portraiture that you need to know.

- 13% of parents have told their children not to take a selfie while driving (AAA)
- 40% of married women say their first wedding pic was a selfie (Wakefield Research)
- 75% of social media users prefer to pose for a selfie with a pet than a person (Vets Now)
- 4% of people have taken a Selfie while driving (OSV Ltd)
- 25% of people have a Selfie regret (Hapify)
- A survey by Shaadi.com reveals that 23% of women dislike men, who post Selfies on Facebook.
- 1% of people have taken a Selfie during an important meeting ( LondonOffices.com)
- 33% of women take a Selfie when they have a bad hair day (Pantene)
- Cosmo magazine says some wedding planners are now selling bridal selfie sticks. The stick is covered in a shiny, silver metallic material while the grip features a plastic white flower

About that last one...don't you hire a photographer to handle all your candid shots during/after the wedding?  And is it may just the groom in me, but don't you have ANYTHING ELSE to occupy your wedding day than taking selfies?!
