Growing up, I thought I'd seen just about every incarnation of "The Boogeyman" that could be imagined in movies.  "Michael" from "Halloween," "Jason" from "Friday the 13th," and "Freddy" from "A Nightmare on Elm Street" all haunted the sleep of kids who came of age in the 1980s.  However, a whole new level of evil was unveiled when I was a senior in college and "Candyman" came out.

Actor Tony Todd (pictured above)  played the title character and was a truly scary dude.  In fact, every time I've seen him in any movie or TV show since, all I can think is, "Okay, who said his name 5 times in the mirror?!"  So when I heard a NEW imagining of "Candyman" was coming out w/o Todd, I was like, "Meh..."  I've changed my mind.  This looks potentially terrifying and will be out in theaters August 27th.
