Debbie and I have few times in our parenting life that we look back and say, "Well, we thought that was gonna be a good idea...but not so much."  One that stands out in our minds was when we thought we were gonna make our little boy's day by taking him to meet one of his favorite characters.   Hogan was just learning to talk (that's how little he was).  One of the things he would say with a smile was, "Clee Clee Clee" as he pointed to one of his favorite bedtime story books featuring "Clifford The Big Red Dog."  So when we heard that "Clee" was going to be meeting and greeting children at a local bookstore one Saturday morning, we just knew we were going to win "Parents of the Year" awards for making this introduction to our son.  Here's what we learned.  Clifford the Big Red Dog-TOPS-is 2 to 3 inches on any TV screen.  In person...in full costume..."Clee" is about 6' 5" and redder than a fire engine (see picture above).  Our son took one look and freaked out (not in a good way)!  This was the memory that popped in our head as we watched the new trailer for the live action "Clifford the Big Red Dog" movie due out September 17th.

We think he's adorable.  Kids who love Clifford are going to fall in one of two camps at this movie:  1. Yes, he's adorable and we love him even more OR 2.  Mom and Dad get me outta here before that ginormous, red Godzilla dog comes through the screen and gets us.
