What you see here is a group of my riding friends celebrating surviving a "sporty" ride at Kings Mountain State Park over the weekend.  Oh it was lots of fun of course but let's just say I never knew rattlesnakes perched on tree limbs.  I was thinking those suckers hid near downed trees.  Turns out they could really be anywhere.

I would say my horse was about 90 percent good;) And the other ten percent of the time wasn't really her fault.  We got in a swarm of bees and she bucked me like I was a rag doll.  This is information you can't tell my husband.  But we all know that is part of horse ownership.  If you choose to be a trail rider, snakes and bees are part of the deal.  But I wouldn't miss the ride for anything.

Oh another cool thing, we rode up on an old chimney, probably from a homestead that predates the revolutionary war.  It is an awesome park.  And we are so lucky to have it right in our backyard.  To learn more about all the activities you can enjoy there just go right here for the information.

Here are a few pics from the weekend.  Looks closely at the picture of the tree.  You will find a big rat rattle snake perched in there.
