He was strong, he was quick, he was tough, and he was one of the key players in the biggest event in pro wrestling history. And now, “Mr #1derful” Paul Orndorff is gone. The WWE Hall of Famer was 71. In 1985, he was featured in the tag team main event of the first “Wrestlemania” with partner “Rowdy” Roddy Piper as they faced off against Hulk Hogan and Mr. T. That event changed the landscape of sports entertainment forever. Twenty years later in 2005 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Paul Orndorff had battled serious health issues over the last several years and his passing was announced by his son Travis’ Instagram page yesterday. RIP, and thanks for all the hours of entertainment.
