Meet Two Lane Hometown Legend Karen Ledford

Each week in collaboration with Two Lane Lager we are honoring a local hometown legend. This week's honoree is Karen Ledford.

Karen Ledford survived a sudden cardiac arrest in her home in July 2013. Thankful for the help of 2 neighbors who gave her CPR until the fire department and 2 EMS paramedics took over. After she recovered from an event that only has a 10% chance of survival she decided she must pay it forward somehow and make this event into a positive to pass on. She decided she would become a CPR instructor with the American Heart Association. She has taught over 1200 people CPR since 2015. She takes funds from classes, donations, and fundraisers and purchases AED (automated external defibrillator) units to donate to nonprofit organizations in our community. She has donated 11 AED units so far.
