Need A Break From The Heat Head To Blowing Rock

I got a text from my neighbor and friend Roseanne Saturday night.  It went something like, "hey, wanna ride in Blowing Rock tomorrow, its supposed to be about ten degrees cooler there". It took me less than a second, with a resounding yes please.  If you need a break from the oppressive heat  we have been experiencing lately, it is a different world less than two hours from here.

There are so many amazing parks in our area and lucky for us we live so close to a completely different point of view and feel.  One of my favorite places to ride Is Moses Cone Park in Blowing Rock.  Thanks to the generous Cone family there are hundreds of  acres to explore on horseback or on foot.  The trails were designed by Mr Cone so that he and his family could ride easily in a horse drawn carriage throughout their vast and absolutely gorgeous property.
