Let me preface this by saying, I'm a professional broadcaster who has been in the business for more than 30 years.  And I make mistakes...daily.  That being said, in our little room, it's just Debbie and me.  When you are the lead announcer for a major sporting event on a major network, you've got a HORDE of people supporting you with research and information.  Mistakes like these are inexcusable.  Let me start with one of my faves.  From the US Open in 2017, Fox's Joe Buck mis-identifies champion Brooks Koepka's girlfriend and has to be corrected on-air by Brad Faxon.

There are few people more snarky or have a more "I know it all" persona than Joe Buck.  So this one was exceptionally satisfying and funny.  Now, it's been a while since we've had a goof like this, but we were treated to this on Sunday Night on NBC.  Al Michaels, arguably the best announcer of all-time, mis-identifies LA Rams' QB Matthew Stafford's wife, Kelly.  Oooops, that's not his wife.  The only thing that makes this palatable for Michaels has to be that he wasn't corrected on-air by his colleague.  Eventually, the mistake was corrected.
