This Hand Signal Saved A North Carolina Teen After She Was Abducted
Familiarize yourself with this hand gesture, it just could help you save a life. A North Carolina teenager was rescued by Kentucky police after she did a hand signal to a passing motorist. The driver recognized the signal from TikTok meaning violence at home and immediately called the police.
The 16-year-old girl had been reported missing from Asheville by her parents on Tuesday, this encounter happened on Thursday on an interstate in Kentucky. The driver had been behind the vehicle and stayed behind it while he waited for the cops to arrive.
He followed the car for 7 miles while relaying information to police until they were able to pull the car over and ultimately rescue the teen. “We don’t know how long coming down the interstate from Ohio that she had been doing this to other motorists hoping that they would notice that she was in distress, but finally someone did recognize,” Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Gilbert Acciardo told news outlet WYMT.
The abductor was promptly arrested Thursday and charged with unlawful imprisonment and possession of a matter of sex performance by a minor (over 12 but under 18). Who knows what would have happened if no one had recognized the signal. Make sure to watch the video above and familiarize yourself with it just in case.
