North Carolina Man Who Scaled Electrical Tower OK After Causing Widespread Power Outage
Charlotte has made the national news after a man climbed nearly 90 feet up an energized electrical tower this past Sunday. According to the Hookup, that was the source of a massive power outage in our area during his rescue. Tens of thousands of people lost power during the incident.
Officers responded to the 1300 block of Nations Crossing Road in Charlotte after receiving reports of a man who climbed a large high tension electrical tower. It took about four hours to get the man down.
In the process of all this Duke Energy was able to redirect the power from the tower and that caused the outages. One resident flew a drone close to the man and that reportedly interfered with police and rescue operations.
The man finally did climb down from the tower without injury and was transported to the hospital for treatment. His identity has not been revealed. Get more details right here
