It still has fur!

Brevard, North Carolina is using a white squirrel instead of a groundhog to predict the end of Winter. The squirrel is named 'Pete'. On Groundhog Day, he will be lowered into a cage before two cards with the words YES and NO are placed on each side of him. He will then be asked if there is going to be six more weeks of winter or not.

Also some bad news about a groundhog up north. Fox News says the city of Milltown, New Jersey has canceled their Groundhog Day celebration because their groundhog, Milltown Mel, has passed away. The city posted; "We Wranglers are sad to report that Milltown Mel recently crossed over the rainbow bridge. Considering the average lifespan of a Groundhog is about 3 years, that is not such a shock, but Mel left us at a tough time of year when most of his fellow groundhogs are hibernating. We will work hard on getting us a new weather prognosticator for next year, till then please check out what all of Mel's cousins have to say on Feb 2nd.''
