Greenville, SC Boy Wows American Idol Judges With Sam Hunt Cover
“You have a heartbreak tone, man.” That’s the reaction from Luke Bryan to Aaron Westberry’s audition last night on “American Idol.” A couple of things that Greenville, SC, native Aaron Westberry has going for him: A. He’s good looking. B. He has a very cool, simple style. C. He picked an unreal song to audition with. Sam Hunt’s “2016” is one of those songs that I still can’t believe was never released as a single.

Now for some bad news. As is the case with MANY on these shows, just about everyone has a good audition in them. However, once you get them to the next phase of competition, their inadequacies show up. Which lead to this next exchange between Luke and Aaron, “You may be one of the most limited singers we’ve ever sent to Hollywood, but your delivery is just right up there with like James Taylor. You know who James Taylor is?”
“I don’t know who that is.”
Sigh…Gotta take points off for that answer. 😉
