Miranda Lambert Wins 2022 ACM Entertainer of the Year
Miranda Lambert won her very first Entertainer of the Year honor from the Academy of Country Music at the ACM Awards (3/7), and she was in London and unable to accept the award in person.
Dolly Parton announced Miranda as the winner, saying, “I have always loved that girl, but unfortunately, Miranda couldn’t be here tonight because she’s working overseas.”
Lambert did respond to the honor via a video from London. She said, “Dolly, oh my gosh, I can not believe I am not there to celebrate. I’m in London. It’s my first time to miss ACMs in 17 years, so my heart is a little broken, but I am happy to be where I am.”
She continued, “I’ve been waiting for this for a really, really long time. I actually never thought it would happen, but thanks you so much to the country music family for embracing me all these years and continuing to support me.”
Lambert concluded, “To all the singer/songwriter girls out there that are putting their blood, sweat, and tears on our guitars strings, this is for us. We did it. Thank you all so much.”
