Amazon says that it has decided to move office staff in downtown Seattle because of a rise in violent crime.

The company confirmed to KOMO News that the location office workers are being moved from employs around 1,800 people. It is currently unclear how many are being relocated as many have continued to work remotely since the start of the pandemic two years ago.

An Amazon spokesman said this in a statement.”Given recent incidents near 3rd and Pine, we’re providing employees currently at that location with alternative office space elsewhere,”  “We are hopeful that conditions will improve and that we will be able to bring employees back to this location when it is safe to do so.”
