New Star Trek Show Looks Like The Real Deal
When we first moved to Greenville, SC, in 1995 we were emersed in the NASCAR culture that up to that point, we were unaware of. One of the first things learned was if you were an “Earnhardt (Sr) Fan,” you could not be a fan of any other driver. In other words, there was no just thing as an Earnhardt/Jeff Gordon fan. That was a unicorn that truly did not exist. Similarly, many will say you cannot be both a “Star Wars” and “Star Trek” fan. I respectfully disagree. I don’t care if it’s “Luke” and “Han” or “Kirk” and “Spock,” I’m all in. That being said, I’m kind of a traditionalist when it comes to my “Trek.” If we’re not talking about the “Starship Enterprise” and her crew, I’m only marginally interested. That’s why I am WAYYY fired up for “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” that is set to premiere May 5 (Paramount+). This show deals with the voyages of the ship with her original captain, “Christopher Pike.” Some of the other characters will look very familiar.

As an added bonus, a young “Ensign James T. Kirk” will make an appearance on the show as well. Again, “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” begins its voyage on Paramount+ May 5.
