According to WCNC, Gamecock superfan Darius Rucker tweeted a great idea on Friday. He suggested that if the Gamecocks women’s basketball team won a national championship, he’d do a show on the school’s campus. For free!
Well, they won. Now everyone is hoping that the show will happen. Rucker played at the Colonial Life Arena in 2017 in the weeks after the football team reached a goal of winning at least six games.
USC Interim President Harris Pastides left a message for Darius. Pastides was asked about the concert proposal and he said he wanted it. Rucker retweeted the post and wrote, “I’m in. Sooner the better.” We are in too. We will keep you informed.
Congratulations to @GamecockWBB and Coach @dawnstaley for winning the National Championship. U have made this Gamecock extremely happy. I will not miss another one. Keep being great y’all in sports but more importantly in life!! pic.twitter.com/lnQJsLvL7k— Darius Rucker (@dariusrucker) April 4, 2022
