With each passing year-really with each passing day-our nation's greatest generation is leaving us.  The men and women who fought in WWII have more than earned all the respect and admiration we can give.  I've said this many times, all they did was answer their nation's call, went out and saved the world from evil, and then came home to build the greatest nation the planet has ever seen.  Which leads me to Lester Wright.  At last weekend's Penn Relays, this 100-year-old WWII vet ran (that's right, I said RAN) a 100-meter dash race.  As if I needed something else to admire him for.

Here's the part that gets scary for me.  Lester Wright credits his longevity to his wife of 80 years.  He talks about living together, working together, traveling together, shopping together.  Funny how what Lester Wright claims has led to him living so long is the same thing that I swear will drive me to an early grave! <g>
