Good ol Myrtle Beach. I grew up in this area and I don’t think a year went by as a kid that we didn’t go there on vacation. A lot of people do! Last year Myrtle Beach businesses wanted to “open the floodgates” at Memorial Day and that is exactly what happened.
According to chamber authorities via Rock Hill’s “The Herald”, hotels were at 90 percent capacity on Memorial Day weekend 2021 but they don’t expect that number this year. Occupancy rates are down to about 80 percent for hotels and air bnbs. But hey, good news!! That means the beach will be a little less crowded.
