A “Donut” World Record? Sign Me Up

In the current weight loss situation that Debbie and I are involved in, there are certain foods that I’ve realized have been and always will be, the devil to me.  Pizza, chips, and at the top…DONUTS-that’s it, that’s the list.  I don’t care what kind of donut you’re talking about; I love them all.  Consequently, when I see ANY story about a donut world record, I’m all about it.

Tom’s Donuts in Angola, Indiana broke a Guinness World Record when it sold 8,558 donuts in a single day of business.  The shop went for it on Saturday morning.  Customers started lining up at 4am.  The goal was to exceed 1,700 donuts sold.  Tome’s Donuts reached that by 8am and at the end of the day, just massacred the record.  8,558 donuts sold?  The population of Angola is only 9,340!

Charlie Nance is the Afternoon Drive co-host (along with his wife) of "The Charlie and Debbie Show" at WSOC, Country 1037 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
